Arianna Occhipinti: Ragusa Revival

The intensity of a woman and her land translated into wine

The making of natural wine is not limited to a simple act of fermentation, it means above all to dedicate great attention to a specific territory: to study it, to nourish it and to prepare it for the future generations.

This is the main merit of this great winemaker: through her wines she has given light to the province of Ragusa (Sicily), to its nature and to the variety of its soils. Arianna’s wines are versatile and conceived through two main variables, the drinkability and the land from which they come.

There are different vinifications according to the lands from which the grapes come. There are fermentations born to investigate the different answers of the vine in the soils where it grows: sandy, clayey or rocky-calcareous. These are studies that require long refinements for a deep understanding of the evolution of wine. An intense and always careful approach is the key of success of this winemaker who, despite the fiercely traditionalist cut, has invested her resources for a positive revaluation of Vittoria, the municipality that houses her cellar.
